According to reports, West Ham have had an £8million offer for striker Kevin Gameiro rejected by French outfit Lorient. Gameiro has emerged as a prime target for the Premier League club after impressing during the past two seasons with Lorient.
The frontman joined Lorient from Strasbourg in 2008 and scored 11 goals in Ligue 1 during his debut campaign at the club.
The 23-year-old built on that promise by netting 17 goals in the league last term and he has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe.
The Hammers have now made an attempt to win the race for Gameiro, although reports suggest Lorient want £11.5million before agreeing to sell.
