Former Manchester City and Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony has been turned down by Halmstads BK.
The centre-forward, a free agent after leaving Al-Ittihad, has been offered to HBK.
But coach Magnus Haglund told Fotbollskanalen: "He was not relevant for us, so it was not an idea.
"We never got far. It was just that he (the agent) offered the name for further discussion, but we were not interested and would not have anything to do with it anyway."
He added: "There are more established big players than before. Marek Hamsik, who came to IFK, has been followed by Bony.
"These are the players who have been left in the winter window and invited to Swedish clubs. That's weird."
