Kolo Toure has taken another step to attain his goal of becoming a manager.
The former Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool defender joined Celtic's staff after retiring from playing last season.
He has now obtained his UEFA A Licence, which allows him to manage teams at the Championship level and coach the reserve and youth teams at top-flight clubs.
The Ivory Coast Federation released a statement announcing the news, and accidentally stated Toure worked for Rangers.
The association said: "Former Ivorian international Kolo Toure continues to quietly progress his career move into management. He has just obtained the UEFA A Licence.
"Already the holder of the UEFA B licence, which allowed him to serve his coaching apprenticeship with his club Glasgow Rangers, the former Elephants captain benefited from the FIF's invitation in August 2017 to work as assistant to Olympic team coach Ibrahim Kamara.
"That October the senior side led by Marc Wilmots appointed him assistant coach, and when Ibrahim Kamara took charge in June 2018 he placed renewed faith in Toure to assist the national team.
"Kolo Toure is a fighter, and his apprenticeship with his club and country has turned out to be a winner."
