Man City chief Soriano: Pep never said he wanted Barcelona return

Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano has made comments regarding the future of boss Pep Guardiola.

Soriano wanted to clarify recent comments from the Catalan coach, who had been talking about letting former assistant Mikel Arteta leave to become Arsenal manager.

Guardiola has been linked with the job at Barcelona in the near future, which Soriano played down.

"No, I don't think is possible," he told DAZN this weekend.

"If you actually listen to Guardiola's statements, he says 'if I were assistant coach at Manchester City...', but he's not an assistant coach, he is the head coach at City.

"So, I'm sure that he won't go to Barcelona or anywhere else in the next two-and-a-half years."
