Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is interested in signing Empoli forward Riccardo Saponara, according to Italian publication Tuttosport.

The report also suggests that Klopp recently sent his scouts to watch the Italian midfielder in action.

However, Empoli's sporting director Marcello Carli recently suggested that no player will leave the club in the upcoming transfer window. He said: "No-one will move in January. We'll keep all our players. Then in June we'll evaluate any offers that come in, in line with club policy."
