Liverpool boss Klopp furious with media targeting 2 members of backroom team

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is furious with the media questioning his staff.

The Athletic says Klopp has been angered at criticism directed at his staff during this season amid Liverpool's struggles on the pitch.

His assistant Pepijn Lijnders had been criticised by former Reds midfielder Dietmar Hamann earlier in the season, after he released a book while still working at Anfield.

Lijnders at the beginning of August released a book called 'Intensity: Inside Liverpool FC', and it's described as giving 'expert first hand insight into everything from training to tactics and team talks'.

Hamann tweeted: "The alarm bells should have been ringing for Liverpool fans when the current assistant manager wrote a book while still employed by the club.

"How he was allowed to do it I'm not too sure."

Klopp was also reportedly irked by reports which claimed the club's head of fitness and conditioning Andreas Kornmayer had been questioned within the camp.

Kornmayer has been a vital part of the set-up at the club since joining in July 2016.
