Former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa has agreed to take the Uruguay job.
Bielsa, 67, has been out of work since last season when dismissed by Leeds.
TyC Sports reporter Cesar Luis Merlo has stated Bielsa has agreed a two-year contract with Uruguay that will keep him in charge until after the World Cup qualifiers in September 2025.
It is reported that there will then be a discussion over whether Bielsa will remain for the 2026 World Cup being held in America, Mexico, and Canada.
The Argentine has been speaking with the Uruguayan FA for some weeks.
Bielsa was previously in charge of Argentina and Chile.
