"He is in good shape," Ronaldo said of his fellow Portugal international. "He's done good things, he's played a lot and he's very confident. I hope he continues because like that he will help the club."

On Nani's somersault goal celebrations, Ronaldo added: "Personally I like to see the celebration, but this is a matter between him and the coach.

"We (United) wanted to start well, but the most important thing is to keep working. Of course we didn't want to start with two draws, but it isn't how you start that counts. It is how you finish and I am certain that things will turn out well."
