Vitesse Arnhem have denied being funded indirectly by former Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
That's the claim made by the Guardian. It was reported that Abramovich gave Vitesse at least €117m at the end of 2015 through offshore organizations.
“During the specified period, Vitesse received bonuses from the holding company, which follows from the published annual reports," Vitesse said in a statement.
"This holding, according to the Guardian, was financed by Marindale Trading Limited, whose sole beneficiary is Mr. Chigirinsky. Vitesse knew nothing about how this company was financed.
"The club itself had no loan agreements."
