Flamengo are upbeat on their chances of convincing former Arsenal defender David Luiz to join them.
The 28-year-old previously meet with Flamengo's vice president Marco Braz and football director Bruno Spindel as the pair are said to be on a mission to bring in high profile players.
Flamengo could sign Luiz - who has been capped 57 times for Brazil's national team - for free this summer after his contract at the Emirates expired in June.
Globo reports the financial aspect of the contract has been agreed and will not be the limiting factor to a deal being secured.
Luiz is, however, taking time to reach a decision over his next move as he wants to find a project that "touches his heart".
Nevertheless, fans have taken to social media to express their excitement over a potential deal with the player who has also represented Chelsea and PSG in the past.
