Arthur Melo admits he was convinced about joining Fiorentina by coach Vincenzo Italiano.
The Brazil midfielder made the move from Juventus last month.
He said: "My adventure in Viola was born out of a call from my agent (Federico) Pastorello. I was pleased, I knew that Fiorentina were coming from a great season, but I wasn't one hundred percent convinced."
On the reason for the choice, the Brazilian added: "It's all the fault of Italiano. I heard him and I understood that Florence was the place for me. He explained to me that a player with my characteristics would have been fundamental. After listening to the explanation, I realised that the position he wanted me in is the one I like best."
