Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has slammed the transfer windows system.
Martinez wants the window to be slammed shut before the start of the Premier League season to prevent the so-called 'smaller' clubs and their supporters having to endure an extra fortnight of transfer torture and uncertainty.
"At the moment, unfortunately, we are living with the consequences that the transfer window brings to the majority of the football clubs in the Premier League," he told the Wigan Evening Post.
"All it does is bring rumours and speculation into the press, and we have to accept that is going to happen.
"I don't think you will ever be able to find a perfect solution to the problem of the transfer window.
"But, within the structure we have got, I believe it would be a big help if the window would close before the first match of the season."
