Velez Sarsfield have warned Manchester City over their price for Thiago Almada.
City are seeking to sign the attacking midfielder for €10m before loaning him out to Sporting CP. The two clubs are in advanced talks over a formal partnership.
However, Velez management insist City must go higher for Almada after losing Benjmin Garre at 16 to the English champions in 2016. Almada's deal carries a €25m buyout clause.
Velez board member Miguel Calello said: "We want Thiago Almada to stay this year in Vélez. If Manchester City wants to come and pick him up, they have to sit down with Vélez's managers and clarify. We have already been robbed a player."
