Tottenham face a lengthy wait for Nice striker Loic Remy.
The London Evening Standard says Spurs lodged a £12m bid for the 23-year-old over the weekend, just days after manager Harry Redknapp went to see him make his debut for France.
Redknapp wants Remy to strengthen his frontline after seeing his team dominate against Manchester City on Saturday but fail to score.
Remy, who scored Nice's winner in the 2-1 victory over Lorient on Saturday, has been watched by several Premier League clubs.
His agent Frederic Guerra said: "Marseille are interested but Loic still wants to move to England. I fully expect movement by the middle of next week."
