Sunderland are waiting on Napoli midfielder Jonathan De Guzman to decide if he is going to join the Black Cats on loan from the Serie A club.
The Chronicle is reporting Sunderland and Napoli have already agreed on a season-long loan deal for the 27-year-old, but it is understood De Guzman is taking his time to accept personal terms.
It is believed both clubs are eager for the saga to come to an end sooner rather than later, with reports in Italy claiming De Guzman and his representatives met with Napoli's sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli on Thursday.
De Guzman has also attracted interest from Bournemouth and Marseille.
