Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists he was happy with the performance of his young players in their Carabao Cup win over Colchester.
Despite the 3-0 victory, the display drew some criticism - including from his native Norway.
But Solskjaer told VG: "I think we took the foot off the accelerator (in the second half). We didn't push them, we let them have the ball, we started making decisions that we don't usually make.
"We tried to dribble people when there was no room, we tried to shoot from the wrong team ... it's about learning what decisions to make all the time."
On facing Manchester City in the semifinals, Solskjaer says he has something new planned.
He added: "I don't think you can beat City two or three times in a row with the same tactics, so we have to try to do some things better than we did last time, because I'm sure (City manager Pep) Guardiola will fire up his team."
