Okore hopeful of continued momentum as Aston Villa eye FA Cup run

Aston Villa defender Jores Okore hopes the team keeps their recent run going by causing an upset against Manchester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Villa are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions and will welcome City to Villa Park on Saturday.

Recalling Villa's run to the FA Cup final last season while successfully staving off relegation, the Danish defender said: "We need to go out and keep that run going.

"As long as we create chances we can go out and win.

"Last season's run to the final was really special.

"It was amazing to go to Wembley and go that far in a tournament with some quality teams.

"We had a run last year and hopefully if we can get a good result this weekend we'll see even more confidence coming back in the team and maybe we can get the same kind of run and can do the same this year.

"The semi-final win over Liverpool gave us a little spark and we showed we can beat any team on our day.

"It gave us a spark and we went and won the game - it helped us retain our Premier League status - hopefully that can happen again this time round."
