Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has disclosed that Boro have rejected an offer from Premiership rivals Leicester for attacker Gaston Ramirez, who has handed in a transfer request.

"It's frustrating as a coach and a person," Karanka said. "He was calling us to play here last season, he got back to his best here, he got back in the national team.

"Nobody is bigger than the team. In the end, if we don't receive the right offer, he will be an important player."
