Grimsby fail with bid for Hull pair Featherstone, Atkinson

Hull City youngster Nicky Featherstone has rejected a one-month loan offer from Grimsby.

The Hull Daily Mail says having played most of his football for the reserves this season, Featherstone is out of the first-team picture at the Tigers.

But after being the subject of an approach by the League Two strugglers earlier this week, he rejected the chance to play at Blundell Park.

The 21-year-old would rather fight for a place at the KC Stadium than get some first-team football under his belt.

The Mariners were also keen to take Will Atkinson on-loan, but a deal for the Beverley-born winger also failed to materialise.
