FIFA want Qatar report regarding conditions of workers

FIFA have ordered an update from Qatar regarding the conditions of their workers ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Reports suggest that Qatar's 'unacceptable' development settings saw 185 Nepalese workers die last year which prompted FIFA to question the conditions in the Middle East.

World football's governing body has demanded more regular updates from the Middle East with German FIFA member Theo Zwanziger confirming the orders.

"We are currently in the middle of an intensive process, which is exclusively aimed at improving the situation of workers in Qatar," he said.

"Ultimately, what we need are clear rules and steps that will build trust and ensure that the situation, which is unacceptable at the moment, improves in a sustainable manner.

"This process will continue after 13 February and will culminate in a report to be delivered to the FIFA executive committee at its meeting on 20 and 21 March."
