Feyenoord captain Clasie excited by Southampton interest

Feyenoord skipper Jordy Clasie is keen on a move to Southampton.

Clasie admitted last week that he could be on the move from Rotterdam this summer.

De Telegraaf says Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is keen, viewing Clasie as a replacement for Morgan Schneiderlin. The Frenchman wants to leave St Mary's for a Champions League club.

Clasie would welcome the chance to work again with Koeman.

A fee of €18 million has been mooted, which would match the record fee Liverpool paid Feyenoord for Dirk Kuyt in 2006
