Catalonia coach Gerard Lopez is happy counting on Barcelona defender Gerard Pique.

Catalonia will face Venezuela in Girona on Monday night and coach Gerard Lopez has the luxury of selecting Gerard Pique, Marc Bartra, Oscar Melendo and even Xavi Hernandez.

Pique, who retired from international duty with Spain after the 2018 World Cup, has had accusations thrown at him that he quit La Roja to represent Catalonia.

"Pique hasn't stopped playing for Spain to play for Catalonia," Lopez told A Diario.

"He understands that he's reached a certain age and he's already won everything."
