Barcelona fullback Daniel Alves says the significance of their 4-0 win at Real Madrid cannot be underplayed.

Barca's win sees them now 12 points behind LaLiga leaders Real Madrid. But it also confirms Barca's resurgence under new coach Xavi.

Alves said: "The message is very simple. You have to enjoy this team and this club. This victory belongs to our players, staff and club, but also to our players.

"We are Barça in good times and in bad times. This is how history is built. And, once again, we have lived a night for history in the house of the rival.

"Winning here is always a pleasure. It's been a while since we won and it's always special. And because of how everything happened, because this is the present and you have to live it. This is a great gift, a great night.

"The mission was to recover the identity. And the identity we have will take us to the top. Barça has a philosophy of playing and defending. I think that today it has become clear that if we do what Barça usually does, titles and victories will come because that's how this club has done. And we dream a lot, and dreaming is free.
