West Bromwich Albion chairman Jeremy Peace says their transfer plans are not yet over.
Peace admits this summer's transfer window has been difficult.
In his message to fans in yesterday's Albion matchday programme Peace targeted players of the "required quality" but added: "Unfortunately, any promoted club inevitably finds it difficult to improve its squad and, during this summer's relatively quiet window, it has been even more difficult to recruit the right players.
''And there's no point signing the wrong players.
"We have placed great importance ensuring a core of players remain with us over the longer term and we have retained the services of all the players we wanted to keep.
''We have analysed our previous seasons in the Premier League and we are trying to implement the lessons from those and, as a consequence, we believe the squad will be stronger and, in particular, more experienced than two years ago."
