Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has paid tribute to his Celtic fans.
The centre-back had previously made his name in Scotland where he won two league titles with Celtic.
And he admits he initially struggled to communicate with the locals when he arrived in Glasgow.
“It was massive," he told the Guardian when discussing his move to Celtic. "I spoke quite good English but the Scottish accent is totally different.
“I remember in the beginning people were talking and I was just nodding and saying yes.
“But going to Celtic was fantastic for me even if it was the same situation I had in Holland."
He added: “The fans at Celtic are amazing.
“They live and die for their club. That's something I love – real fans, real passion.
“It's why I also made the decision to come to Liverpool."
