Bournemouth defender Stephens laments 'harsh penalty' after Brentford defeat

Bournemouth defender Jack Stephens was left frustrated after their 2-0 defeat at Brentford.

The Bees won 2-0, with a controversial penalty scored by Ivan Toney the flashpoint.

Stephens said: "Of course it's disappointing, I thought the first half was very even. The penalty decision goes against us but we came out in the second half and played well but the second goal finishes it off.

"The penalty seemed a little bit harsh from my point of view. I haven't watched it back yet.

"Hopefully [Lewis Cook's] injury is not too serious, he's been very good this season.

"No-one thought it would be easy in the Premier League, but the important thing is we stick together. Hopefully we turn things around."
