The 2015 MLS SuperDraft took place in Philadelphia on Thursday with two expansion franchises heavily involved.
Orlando City SC landed pick one in the ??th edition of Major League Soccer's selection process and used it to bring in Cyle Larin from the Connecticut Huskies.
The Ontario-born 19-year old striker has already represented the Canadian national team on three occasions and is expected to play MLS for the Lions in 2015.
New York City FC, who also begin MLS play in 2015, used pick number two to capture talented forward Khiry Shelton from Oregon State.
The 21-year old Colorado native is a former USA U18 international and has a bright future to look forward to according to NYCFC officials.
A total of 42 players were selected in the first two round of the SuperDraft with round three and four to be conducted via teleconference on January 20.
