QPR boss Chris Ramsey explained taking off Darnell Furlong in defeat at Crystal Palace.
Ramsey replaced the youngster with Clint Hill, who has been suffering with flu.
He insisted Furlong's withdrawal had nothing to do with his performance.
"But Darnell came off and the only reason he did so was because his calf stiffened up and it wouldn't have been fair to keep him on.
"He didn't come off because they scored two goals.
"Palace are a good side who can be unpredictable, and you have to be up to it - and we're weren't. I'm hoping nine games is enough (to avoid relegation) and nobody's moaning and bickering.
"We're still unified in what we're trying to do."
