Former Aston Villa captain Gabby Agbonlahor says it was crazy Manchester United were considering Scott McTominay's summer sale.
The midfielder was offered to West Ham, Bayern Munich and Newcastle during the transfer window.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider: "It would have been a travesty if McTominay had been sold. They need a wide squad, they are going to participate in the Champions League now.
"Fred had to leave, he wasn't good enough, but it was strange to see them trying to force McTominay out. When he is in the mood, he is a top player.
"Now he stays at the club so he has to try to disprove them and take back his place in the team."
