Simon Davies leaves coaching post at Anderlecht

Simon Davies is leaving his coaching role at Anderlecht.

The former Manchester City youth coach moved to Anderlecht last summer as Vincent Kompany's No2.

But after the appointment of Frank Vercauteren as Anderlecht's main head coach, Davies found himself sidelined.

Anderlecht announced yesterday: “After 8 months of cooperation, assistant coach Simon Davies leaves RSC Anderlecht for personal reasons. Anderlecht want to thank Simon for his dedication, loyalty and the enormous efforts he has made for the club.

“He worked very well with the entire staff, first as a coach, then as an excellent field trainer. Davies was also particularly good in all departments of the club as a person. Anderlecht wishes Simon every happiness and success in the future."
