Arsenal appear set to make Chelsea forward Kai Havertz their first summer signing.

The Gunners are planning an ambitious summer of moves, which will likely include West Ham United's Declan Rice.

While the latter deal is not nearing completion, the Evening Standard states that negotiations for Havertz are advanced. A fee of £65m has been struck.

Chelsea lowered their asking price for the German attacker, leading to a deal.

The two clubs will haggle over the final details, while Havertz goes through with a medical in the coming days.

The 24-year-old will be manager Mikel Arteta's first addition to his Premier League runners-up squad.
