Harry Redknapp believes that Brendan Rodgers made the correct decision to leave Celtic for Leicester City.

Many Celtic fans were angered at the manner of Rodgers' departure, as he left midway through the season with the club involved in a tight title race.

However, Redknapp understands why Rodgers made the decision in the way that he did.

He told the Express: "He did his job there, he did his job brilliantly at Celtic, he's entitled to leave if another club comes in for him.

"You want to manage in the Premier League, no disrespect to the Scottish Premiership but it doesn't compare to the Premier League.

"He's taken on a good club who have money to spend and they've got decent team, it's a great move for Brendan.

"He did his job at Celtic just fine."
