Fowler wants to see Slot field Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike together in a front two after the international break.
He explained to Tribalfootball.com: "Yes, because as I said before, good players adapt and good players can handle any situation. We’ve been there. Anyone who's played in the Premier League has obviously got something about them where you adapt to whatever the manager wants.
"They might not be the perfection in terms of playing the two up top because the team tells you that. Arne Slot has never really done that. In terms of playing a two or a 4-4-2, he's normally playing a 4-2-3-1. Or a 4-3-3. If you're looking to maximize the situation, they’ve played (Ryan) Gravenberch, they played with (Alexis) Mac Allister and they played with (Dominik) Szoboszlai in the midfield.
"I do quite like those three, although I do think they lack a Fabinho type player. But when you're picking them three, there's obviously three spaces above them where you could have maybe a (Florian) Wirtz and an Isak.
"Then obviously you've got the conundrum then of where Mo Salah is going to play. He’s obviously going away with the AFCON. So that might be a time for Liverpool to start to think, oh we might start needing to look to the future.
"I'm sure when Mo does come back he's going to play because we've seen his goals. Now it could be a case of, look Mo, maybe you need to be one of the strikers instead of Isak and Ekitike."
