Rice has become a central pillar of Arsenal’s midfield this season, leading the side to the top of the table as the Gunners look down at the Manchester City and Aston Villa with a five point gap.
Arsenal face Liverpool this week as they try to extend their lead to 8 points clear at the top after City drew with Brighton and Villa drew with Crystal Palace.
However, they must bypass Liverpool, who won last time out thanks to a Dominik Szoboszlai free kick. Rice, speaking to the club website, has revealed how fans will be essential to Thursday’s clash, which could massively help their title hopes.
"It’s a massive game. We need the Emirates to be on it again. We’re unbeaten at home, we need to go out there and give it everything we’ve got.
“The energy needs to be right; we need to transmit that energy on the pitch, give them the right reason to cheer, and to push us on.
"It’s one at a time, it’s just another one down off the Christmas schedule, and hopefully we can get another win and keep pushing on."
Liverpool are 14 points behind Arsenal but could cement their place in the top four with a victory that would push them well ahead of both Chelsea and Manchester United.
Since Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s appointment in 2019, the Gunners have finished eighth, eighth, fifth, second, second, and second. Winning the title would end a two decade lull and would put the Spaniard in the history books.
