Liverpool are set to miss five key players as they prepare to face Arsenal on Thursday night.

Arsenal have won a sensational 14 of their 15 matches this season at the Emirates and welcome champions Liverpool to North London in what should be an intense clash.

Last time out, Liverpool won 1-0 thanks to a Dominik Szoboszlai freekick that helped Arsenal to one of only two Premier League losses this season.

Liverpool will miss Mohamed Salah for the clash as he is representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, where the winger pushed his side into the Quarter final against the Ivory Coast this week.

The Reds will also miss out on Giovanni Leoni (ACL), Wataru Endo (ankle) and £125M summer signing Alexander Isak (ankle & fractured fibula) who has been a disappointment since he arrived.

Finally, Isak’s replacement in attack, Hugo Ekitike is also a huge doubt for the game as he recovers from surgery on an ankle injury that included a fractured fibula after being caught by Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven in a clash before Christmas.

Manager Arne Slot opened up on the injury this week which many believe will not only leave him out of the starting eleven but also the entire squad.

"It’s not a big surprise he gets a bit of DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness)," said Slot.

"We were hoping it would be DOMS and we could have used him as a sub but, unfortunately, we saw a bit more and couldn’t take a risk.

"He has not trained with us until now, and let's see if he can today. I've said, I think, two or three days ago when we played Fulham that he is not going to be out for too long, but because games come so fast, he is in between, maybe training with the team, or it would take him one, two days extra."
