Liverpool's summer signing Victor Munoz has spoken on his injury and how he could not pass up move to Merseyside.

Munoz sealed a move from LaLiga side Osasuna in a deal worth a reported £34.5M earlier this month in what is Liverpool’s first deal of the summer.

The winger can play on both sides and fans hope he will be able to replace Mohamed Salah who departed the club at the end of the season despite having a year left on his contract.

The 22-year-old will miss Spain’s final group game against Uruguay this weekend due to a muscular injury and he has spoken on his slow return to the pitch in what thankfully for Liverpool fans isn’t a serious knock.

"I've been focused on the World Cup, so I didn't want to hear much about my future unless it was something clear," Munoz said. "Liverpool is an opportunity you can't miss.

"It all took place very quickly. Iraola transmitted his confidence to me, how his team plays. He had an important role when it came to choosing.

"We were carrying it (the injury), but I noticed a discomfort and we are trying to resume the process to be on the field as soon as possible.

"They have been very complicated moments because this is the dream of a child and seeing that it can be twisted by an injury annoys you a lot.”

Munoz will link up with his new teammates following the World Cup where Spain are predicted to go far in the tournament, with the help of Liverpool’s new signing and his versatility in attack.
