Scotland and Brazil’s Group C clash at Miami Stadium on 24th June will mark the fifth time they have met in the group phase and will be the joint-most played fixture at this stage of the global showpiece, following meetings in 1974, 1982, 1990, and 1998.
Klopp, now Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer after leaving Liverpool 2 years ago, has spoken to Bild about the clash and how British teams may cope at the tournament this summer after years of heartbreak.
“I’m most looking forward to Scotland versus Brazil; it promises to be fascinating because two very different football philosophies will collide.”
Scotland famously haven’t been at a World Cup since 1998 whilst other British sides such as England have tried and failed at every tournament since but have not come close to adding to their 1966 title.
Klopp spoke on the chances for British sides, who could cause an upset on the world stage against heavy hitters such as Brazil.
"I think you should keep an eye on the British teams. Because if they find a way to be ready for the tournament, they’ll go far. They have a good generation of players."

Scotland play their first two games at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough as they aim to progress from the group stage in what would be a mighty achievement in itself.
