Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has opened up on beating Liverpool at Anfield for the first time in his career.

The Red Devils have now picked up consecutive Premier League wins for the first time since the start of Ruben Amorim’s managerial reign after their beat rivals Liverpool 2-1 in front of the Anfield crowd.

Harry Maguire’s dramatic winner secured their first away win at Liverpool since 2016 and will keep Amorim in the job for at least a few more weeks after reports suggested he could be sacked.

One player who is over the moon with the win is Dalot who spoke after the game and revealed how happy he and the squad are with the hard fought victory.

"You can imagine the feeling inside the dressing room, it took me eight years to win at Anfield, so obviously really proud of everyone involved, the players, the staff, everybody on the bench. Great feeling, a beautiful day for us and the fans. Everybody has to enjoy today."

When asked if it was one of the biggest wins of his time at the club, Dalot said: "Probably, yeah, I could say so because of the moment, the pressure that everyone created on us to have back-to-back wins, coming here against a team that was going through a difficult phase

"So a game like today can go both ways. The team that wins today will come on top, so very important for us, but again, I don't want to get too carried away because next week we have to keep going.

The 25-year-old Portugal international added: "So really happy. Today is a very good day for the club. We've been through a lot, some difficulties, but today is to enjoy."

United next face Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham as they aim to continue their winning streak and push into the European spots which are crucial to keeping Amorim in charge.
