Liverpool are planning several sales to help fund a massive bid for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

After an approach for Isak was rejected by Newcastle ten days ago, Liverpool are ready to try again.

The Reds have shown a willingness to go as high as £120m to prise Isak away from St James' Park.

The Swede was not on the jet for the Toon squad's flight to Asia for the beginning of their preseason tour with management insisting he had been left behind to nurse a thigh injury.

However, it soon emerged Isak had made a transfer request leaving fans stunned.

Encouraged by developments, Liverpool are now drawing up plans to bid for Isak. Since their last attempt, Hugo Ekitike has arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt for £79m. However, the Reds are ready to try for Isak and intend to make room for the Swede with several sales.

The Mirror says Darwin Nunez, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa and Tyler Morton are all available, while Liverpool are now leaning towards selling Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich after initial reluctance.

Liverpool are unlikely to be challenged inside the Premier League for Isak, with Arsenal and Chelsea having their centre-forward signing plans set elsewhere.
