Harvey Elliott could join Crystal Palace in a swap deal for Adam Wharton as Liverpool make summer move.

England boss Thomas Tuchel created many talking points with his England World Cup squad selection last month as he left out a number of big names including Palace midfielder Wharton

The 22-year-old has been pitted against Elliot Anderson as the two most exciting midfield prospects that several top teams have been linked with over the past year.

Wharton has caught the attention of Liverpool, a side who have been eyeing up the young playmaker since last summer when former manager Arne Slot was in charge.

Now, despite Liverpool being on the hunt for a winger like Yan Diomande who can replace Mohamed Salah, journalist and editor Danny Gallagher has revealed that the Reds could consider a swap deal for Elliott

“Understand Liverpool are looking into the logistics to see Harvey Elliott move to Crystal Palace as part of an Adam Wharton agreement, despite Iraola still wanting to run the rule over whether an exit is necessary. Something that could move quickly if all parties agree.”

After failing to trigger a £35M permanent move to Aston Villa whilst on loan, Elliott is set to report back to the AXA Training Centre for pre season this month in what will be an isolated group during the World Cup.

Elliott could be handed another chance at Liverpool under new manager Andoni Iraola but if Palace are interested in the 23 year old, he could be on his way out the door.
