In May, Guardiola announced he would be stepping down as City's manager at the end of the season after winning every trophy possible during his time in England.
The Spaniard steps away as a legend not just for the club but for the Premier League and as the new season approaches, he has not been linked with many clubs, suggesting he is taking a break.
Guardiola spoke with OKX this week about leaving the Citizens, a move he says comes from being worn out after over a decade in charge of the club.
“I had one more year contract so I could’ve stayed,” said Guardiola.
“But I had the feeling that I didn’t have the energy that is required to be at the top, or be demanding for games every three days.”
In the aftermath of England’s World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina, Guardiola is shockingly one of the favourites to replace current manager Thomas Tuchel.
However, Tuchel has already agreed a contract extension through to Euro 2028 and Guardiola is very unlikely to take his spot, despite being readily available.
City return to pre-season training next Monday without Guardiola for the first time in over 10 years as his replacement Enzo Maresca takes control of the side vying for silverware next season.
