Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford is one of seven Barcelona stars at risk of not being registered in time for their LaLiga opener.

The Catalan side are scheduled to begin their league campaign against RCD Mallorca on August 16th, but registration issues may prevent as many as seven players from being cleared to play, which includes Rashford who joined the club on loan this summer.

Rashford’s move comes after a turbulent couple of years at Old Trafford, during which time he was loaned out to Aston Villa for the second half of last term by manager Ruben Amorim who is said to have fallen out with the winger.

The 27-year-old netted four goals in his 17 appearances for Unai Emery's side, which caught the eye of Barcelona manager Hansi Flick who decided to make a move for him ahead of the new season. Rashford made his debut against Vissel Kobe and has subsequently played 45 minutes in friendlies against FC Seoul and Daegu, impressing many Spanish fans.

However, he has not yet been registered with the side, which may prove to be a huge problem for the England international who could miss out on the opening game of the season. Interestingly, Rashford was expected to feature largely from the left side of attack when is eventually registered but Flick spoke recently about how he plans to change the way he will operate in the side.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Flick is now planning to utilise him as a central striker as well after being thoroughly impressed by his work in training in the past few weeks. However, without the expected salary relief, the club are currently unable to register several players and Flick’s plan for Rashford might not come to fruition for some time.
