For his part, Ballon d'Or winner Rivaldo has doubts about the wisdom of the deal.
"It is normal for Rashford to start on the bench. The coach wants to see him in training first, and the team had a strong season," Rivaldo tells Betfair.
The Brazil cannot see Rashford getting ahead of Raphinha in Barca's XI.
"I think it is very unlikely that Rashford will take his place. Raphinha is one of the five best players in the world right now. He is a leader in the team and highly respected throughout the club. That place is his.
"He (Rashford) will find his rhythm and learn how the team plays. In time he will get his chances, but it will not be easy."
