The Eagles have been searching for reinforcements at centre-back following the departure of key defender Maxence Lacroix. The Frenchman moved to Chelsea earlier this summer in a deal reportedly worth £52 million.
Speaking on Thursday, new Palace manager Pierre Sage said: "We need a player in this department, a player with a lot of games, if possible, in the Premier League. We need a leader."
Now, according to info from Fabrizio Romano, Palace actually found Lacroix's replacement in the club where he moved. They agreed to bring in fellow Frenchman Axel Disasi, who's been a Chelsea player since 2023 but has been frozen out of the Blues squad since 2025. He spent the second half of the previous season on loan at West Ham.
Chelsea will reportedly receive an undisclosed fee for the loan and will also cover Disasi's wages.
