After joining the Hammers from Hull City in 2020, Bowen has played 280 times for the club, scoring 85 goals and helping the side to the UEFA Conference League in 2023.
The Hammers captain, who has been a target for Everton and Chelsea this summer, has spoken on his future this week as reports state that he has signed fresh terms with the side despite the club dropping to the Championship.
Bowen is determined to clinch promotion back to the Premier League, something he believes is more than possible with West Ham.
“I want the Club really moving in the direction that we know we can be in. It’s not going to happen just because we think it can happen. We’re going to have to earn the right to do it, work to do it, set standards every day to do it and then hopefully, in a year’s time, we’ll be sat here and we’ll be celebrating being back in the Premier League.”
“Thank you for your support. I know it’s difficult times. We share that disappointment, but that’s done now. The job now is to get back into the Premier League and go up this season. We’re going to need you every single game, home and away.
“We can’t thank you enough. I feel it as captain of this Club, the bond that we have. That’s what I want to keep doing. I want to keep enjoying these times with the fans, keep building something for this club and get us back to where we belong.”
West Ham have already sold Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham and are also set to lose Crysencio Summerville in the coming weeks. Bowen has an impossible job at leading this side back up to the Premier League, but his faith may be enough to boost the side forward.
