The Toffees failed to secure their goal of European qualification as part of a mixed debut year at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and that has impacted Moyes’ spending power.
However, the veteran boss has completed deals to turn Merlin Rohl and Tyrique George’s loan moves into permanent transfers, alongside a swoop for Hayden Hackney.
A new striker remains on the cards for Everton with Thierno Barry and Beto scoring eight and nine Premier League goals respectively last season.
Liam Delap has been suggested as a possible option, after Moyes lost out to Chelsea in the race to sign him last season, as he bagged 12 EPL goals for Ipswich Town in 2024/25.
Chelsea are rumoured to be open to offers in the region of £30M, but former Everton striker Yakubu is unconvinced by him, despite the inconsistency of Beto and Barry.
“When you look at Delap, he did well at Ipswich, scoring goals, and then moved to Chelsea. It’s a massive leap from Ipswich to Chelsea and he’s found it difficult," he told an intervew with ToffeeWeb.
“To bring him from Chelsea to Everton, it’s not going to be easy. We’re looking for a striker who can get the job done every weekend and he’s not a bad player to bring in - but can he do the same as he did at Ipswich?”
