Aaron Wan-Bissaka has joined Aston Villa on loan with an obligation to buy.

West Ham were relegated last season, and the club have since lost the likes of Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville who are now joined by Wan-Bissaka who has penned a deal with Villa

The 28-year-old has missed Championship club West Ham's first two matches of the season during negotiations and the Premier League side have now announced him as their latest signing as he rivals Matty Cash at right back.

“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from West Ham United. Welcome, Aaron!”

The DR Congo international is set to become Villa’s sixth signing of the summer as manager Unai Emery bolsters his side with Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes, Alejandro Garnacho, Modou Keba Cisse, Matteo Ruggeri and Zion Suzuki.

Wan-Bissaka made 25 appearances in the Premier League during 2025-26 as his side went down. He swaps the Championship for Champions League football with Villa in what is a no brainer switch for the former Manchester United star.

Villa have an obligation to buy him once the loan is completed, with reports suggesting that West Ham are asking for around £20M-25M for his services if Emery believes he is good enough for the side.

As the Premier League season quickly approaches, Wan-Bissaka could make his debut against Brighton this weekend as Villa aim for a perfect start to the season.
