Arsenal come into the weekend five points clear of Manchester City as they remain top of the Premier League on their hunt for their first title in over two decades.
The Gunners defeated Chelsea over two legs of an EFL Cup semi-final tie earlier this season as the Blues seek revenge and to hurt their London rivals’ chances of going all the way this season.
Gyokeres is only getting better
Arteta first spoke on Viktor Gyokeres who bagged a brace against Tottenham last weekend, taking his tally to 10 goals in 26 Premier League appearances in his first season in the English top flight.
"Well I think one thing leads to another. The performances are good, you understand the games the performances better.
"He is an incredible striker. He needs to understand the team the league better.
Does he put too much press on himself: "I don't know, that's a question for him. The demands that he puts on himself, to help the team. Ask when our players when they have to train against him, they say 'it's a nightmare'
Arteta excited to face Leverkusen
Gyokeres will lead the line against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League after the draw was made on Friday, a clash that Arteta said he is thrilled about as they forge a path to the final.
"We are very excited to play the next round, we have earned the right to play in the group stage and find ways to be better than them.
"Yeah, we are really excited, being at the forefront. The way the team are performing gives you a lot of thoughts about what might be coming."
Havertz and Dowman return?
Finally, Arteta was asked about team news and revealed both Kai Havertz and Max Dowman are close to returning to the side in what is a huge boost in midfield.
"Yeah we are hopeful. Max will play some minutes tonight with the under-21s, Kai, we will see."
