But Domenech is unimpressed and said of De Zerbi's approach: "It's unclear what they're trying to do. They try to build from the back, to draw the opponent in, but they end up losing dangerous balls in their own half.
"If you're caught five or six times in the same way, you have to change things.
"Monaco handled the ball calmly, moved the play around, and found space with ease.
De Zerbi also said: "It's a lack of organisation and identity. No one today can explain how Marseille plays, either offensively or defensively. Their game is predictable."
