AS Monaco coach Sebastien Poconogli drew positives from Sunday night's defeat at Olympique Marseille.

ASM were beaten 1-0 after Mason Greenwood struck inside the final ten minutes at the Velodrome.

Monaco had two goals denied by VAR, with Folarin Balogun involved in both incidents.

Afterwards, Poconogli said: "We came to Marseille, we pressed high, we won the ball back in their half: it's a huge expenditure of energy.

"That first goal would have rewarded our work."

Having taken over as coach in October, the Belgian coach is still experiencing ups and downs, but remains confident: "We need more determination, because the gentlest players often get punished.

"But by playing like this, I truly believe we can achieve some solid results."
